Ninja Turtles in Time coming to XBLA!

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Turtles in Time – the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game that most remember as TMNT IV from the Super Nintendo, is evidently getting a makeover.

Ninja-Pizza was somehow in the right place at the right time, as he recently took a few snapshots of a completely remade version of this Ninja Turtles classic. The game is clearly marked as coming to the Xbox Live Arcade – as in the first screen shot you can see a “Return to Arcade” menu item at the bottom of the screen, and in the picture below, they are clearly using a wireless Xbox 360 controller:

This is one title that I have had on my wish list from the beginning. I wanted TMNT Arcade (or for the NES gamers: TMNT II), and we got it. I have wanted Turtles in Time, and here it comes. Now if we could only get The Simpson’s Arcade Game on XBLA, my life would be complete. I encourage you to check out Ninja-Pizza for even more details about the remake!

Bored? Wanna Win A Game? Talk to me!

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Everyone is in media lockdown mode, preparing for E3. No major announcements coming from the big companies, and the few things happening aren’t things that are capturing my interests. I don’t know why, just seems like a lot of “we knew it was coming” – even the big things like the Mythic Map Pack and such. I browse the usual sites, and the best I can come up with is reporting that the Wii’s Motion Plus add on will be available June 8th, for a mere $20 – or downright free with Wii Sports Resort.

With spring time boredom setting in, I have decided do something sweepingly fun. I want to build a community. Not just have a website, really give people a home. I have been a bit of a vagabond over the years, in different forum. And for a time, in each one, I really got the feeling like I was at home, and that these people were my friends. Some groups of people just fit well together. I’m hoping to find another group of those people – and bring them here. So let’s talk about games, movies, music, just go ahead and introduce yourself – kick off your shoes and do what makes you feel comfortable.

I thought you said I could win stuff? Oh you can. Register with WinBreak, post in the forum, and start making this place your own. See what kind of community this becomes, join the fun. Help give us our own identity – be the shapers and molders.

I still don’t have quite the pull that the bigger guys do, so when I do contests, they come right out of my pocket. So here’s what I am putting up for grabs: 3 “2nd place” winners will receive Xbox Live Arcade games (your choice of $5 or $10 title from the new Amazon Digital Marketplace). A grand prize winner will be selected and offered a prize valued at $20 – whether you want Wii Points, Microsoft Points, Multiple Arcade games, or PSN Store Credit.

How I will choose winners / Rules: Post in the forum. Each forum post containing substance you make will count toward your total number of entries in a random drawing. “Substance” will be judged by Garrett “NuAngel” Culver; obviously abusive entries (example: “I agree” being the entire contents of the post) and spam posts will be discredited as entries, and repeat offenders will be disqualified. No warnings must be given to those disqualified. This contest will end 11:59 PM EST July 31st 2009. Contest is open to residents of the 50 United States, D.C., and Canada (if prize codes have errors, something will be worked out). The process is ongoing. Each “2nd place” winner will be selected at random intervals between today, April 14th 2009 and 11:59 PM EST July 31st, 2009. The Grand Prize winner will be announced August 1st, 2009. WinBreak.com & Garrett “NuAngel” Culver reserve the right to cease the contest at any time. Winners of 2nd place prizes are also counted in the “Grand Prize” drawing, but are eliminated from remaining 2nd prize drawings. All winners will be announced on main page of WinBreak.com. If you have any problems with the registration process or forum, please contact us.

Learn About Uno Rush Before the Release!

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

In 2008, the Summer of Arcade was a smashing success for Xbox. They’re getting ready to do it again, by releasing several long anticipated games over a six week period, beginning March 18th, 2009. During this year’s Days of Arcade, seven new Xbox Live Arcade games are going to see their release, including Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, Hasbro Family Game Night, Lode Runner, and Uno Rush.

Uno Rush has been on people’s minds since the announcement of the NXE, and this new Uno title. What would it be like, how would it play, can you finally play multiplayer LOCALLY, and not just over Xbox Live? I have the answers to all of your questions in this rarely seen Fact-Sheet from Microsoft. I happened to have it laying around and I just thought some of you might find it interesting, the things that were considered “final” back on July 3rd, 2008 – when the game was expected to be released along side the NXE, in the fall. Uno Rush_Fact Sheet FINAL.doc. Give it a quick read, and get excited for the upcoming Days of Arcade, and Uno Rush.

I spent a lot of time, recently, reliving some glory days. Thanks to GoG.com I have been reminiscing about the modern-classics, like the original Unreal Tournament from 1999. A new game looks like it might bring back some of the simple but fast paced action that made the first UT such a smash, while none of the sequels have quite lived up to it. CellFactor: Psychokinetic Wars will blend the fast paced gritty action of UT with some of the more popular magic-like features of the megaflop Shadowrun. All this is going to be delivered through a downloadable game (Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Store) at an affordable price.

An addition to this game, as far back as 2007, people were spotting “Quake III Arena” being listed as an Xbox 360 title on the ESRB’s website, and was even announced by id Software. It looks like it might finally be a reality, coming before the end of 2009. Coupled, at the time, with the announcement of “Quake Zero” (now renamed “Quake Live”) it seems entirely possible like there may be some form of cross-platform play coming to this title.

I’m very excited to check out both of these games, they each look very cool. Are there any other up and coming titles I’m overlooking?
