War World on Arcade: Mech Mayhem ensues

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

War World released today on the XBLA, featuring the kind of MECH combat that we haven’t seen in a long while. I haven’t seen any video of this game yet, so I’m excited to get my hands on the demo, and get a feel for the pacing. I couldn’t stand Chromehounds because of the trot-along pace it made you start off with, so here’s hoping for some quick style matches.

The game boasts 100 arcade style levels, 16 different mechs, 2-4 player co-op, and additional 8-player multiplayer modes. It even claims to have “fast paced” multiplayer, just what I was looking for! I’m quite interested in checking out this 800 MSPoint beauty!

Peggle FINALLY announced for XBLA!

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

In an interview with Talking About Games, PopCap Games officially announced that Peggle would be coming to the XBLA. You remember Peggle, right? It’s that game that I confirmed was coming to Xbox Live on the 2nd day my site was open, clear back on January 4th? Other sites picked it up a few days after I broke the story, back in January, but it’s taken all this time to revamp the game, add some new multiplayer features and polish it up a bit. It’s going to be nearly an entirely new experience – and that’s exciting. So go read the interview, already!

Sept. 10 2008 XBLA Release: Japan Invades… bowling allies?

Monday, September 8th, 2008

The official list was just released: look out for bushido brawlers in “Samurai Shodown II.” Experience a chess-like game with a few twists in “Shotest Shogi.” And get your fix of extra-terrestrial sports with “Rocket Bowl,” – an old Flash game that people just can’t get enough of.

I’m looking forward to “Shotest Shogi.” I played the demo of this a few weeks ago and have been trying to get a handle on it ever since. I’m bad at chess, but this game is simply very fun! I can’t wait to give it another go.
